Meet the Founder

Gallop Books was founded by SaDonna Heathman, a lifelong storyteller and children’s book creator with a passion for curiosity-driven learning. 

Inspired by the wide-open spaces of her family farm in the Pacific Northwest, she launched Gallop Books to publish joyful, engaging stories that help kids connect with the world around them. 

Her books blend curiosity and humor—whether it’s two squirrels trying to stay cool in Sploot or a cow horse who’s afraid of cows in her upcoming picture book, Cowboy Up, Peanut. Each story is designed to get kids thinking, laughing, and seeing the world in new ways.
